My main goal is to help you get more out of your  relationships – in your marriage, with your children and with extended family. The healthiest people go through times in their lives when they are experiencing stress or tension regarding some issue. Even the best relationships go through difficult times needing some help in sorting out the issues and making the relationship stronger.

Counseling is a “talk” venue for helping you change what isn’t working in your life. This is done in the context of the relationship between you and the therapist in a comfortable and safe office environment. It is important that you feel comfortable with your therapist and trust her enough to share important aspects of your life. A therapist is different than a “good friend” because the therapist is available to you, and you don’t have to worry about being there for her. Also, the therapist is more objective, and can note actions and behaviors that friends might not mention. This time, usually 50 minutes per session, is yours, and you decide what is important for you to focus on to best help you. It is completely confidential and anything you disclose is kept between you and the therapist. Usually the first 1-3 sessions are used to collect important information about you and your family and to determine together the goals you want to accomplish.
